If you’re wanting something a little bit special for your self-catering holiday or short break, look no further than our lovely two-bedroom properties, Dobbin Cottage and Jewel Cottage.

The names of these two cosy cottages hold some sentimental memories for Kath Allison, owner of Stoupe Cross Farm Holidays. They were created in 1991 as a conversion from the farm’s original barn, granary, and stables. Dobbin and Jewel were two hard-working horses who ploughed the fields for many years, and when they retired, they lived out the rest of their days running free with the cows and their calves. The cottages have been named in honour of the long service these magnificent animals gave to the farmstead.

Dobbin and Jewel Cottages adjoin the main Stoupe Cross farmhouse just three-quarters of a mile by road from Whitby, and share a large, grassy garden and patio with superb views across to the Abbey. Both offer two first-floor bedrooms with full bedding provided – a double, and a twin with a third pull-out bed (sleeping five in total). A modern first-floor bathroom is fitted with a basin, toilet and bath with a shower over – guests are asked to bring their own towels. Downstairs, the kitchen-diner is fitted with an electric hob, oven, microwave and fridge, and a comfortable lounge with an electric fire, TV and DVD player provides plenty of space for guests to relax.

Each cottage can accommodate one dog for no additional charge, and car parking is available right outside the properties. Cots and high chairs are available if required.

Dobbin Cottage and Jewel Cottage are available to book by the week (Saturday to Saturday), from April to the end of October, with rates starting from £400.
